Have you ever had those nights where you have no trouble falling asleep but are waking frequently in the middle of the night and can't fall back to sleep? Most of the time your adrenals are able to provide you with energy reserves to deal with the physical and emotional stressors of the day. This includes:

- Relationship demands (good or bad such as impending marriage or divorce)
- Exciting new projects or trips
- Dietary stresses such as fasting or erratic eating behaviors
- Self-imposed emotional stressors like worry, anxiety, depression or judgment
Often people will find that after an extended period of time of cumulative stress their bodies will no longer be able to recover from the stresses well. This is because of the lack of reserves left in the adrenal glands and this will affect how well your body will recover during the sleep cycle. Lack of sleep is related to increased risk in developing viral or bacterial infections, irritability, fatigue, mental fog, lack of exercise tolerance, allergies and more. Insomnia can complicate our health and its better to take care of it before we start on the pills because pills leave behind side effects. Popping in pills is not the solution. Every once in a while all of us get stressed out but we should not try to worsen things for ourselves.
